Exhibits

Perhaps the most memorable displays are those of the ancient mummies of Xinjiang. These are human remains naturally preserved for thousands of years, in some cases, by the naturally dry desert environment of Xinjiang. Most are from the nearby Astana Graves.

Also from the Astana Graves are tomb wall paintings.

The museum is also of interest for the valuable insights it affords into the minority cultures living in the region.
