West Kowloon Cultural District Supports Earth Hour 2022 to promote sustainable development

Earth Hour At West Kowloon

The West Kowloon Cultural District (the District) recently switched off non-essential and decoration lights for an hour in all venues of the District tonight in support of Earth Hour 2022, a worldwide lights-off event organised by WWF, for the first time to raise the public awareness of climate change and sustainable development.

Earth Hour

Last weekend,non-essential and decoration lights in the WKCDA Tower, the Art Park, Freespace, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, M+ and the Xiqu Centre were switched off for an hour. The iconic LED facade of M+ also participated for the first time by going dark at the same time to show the museum’s support to the annual green event. The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority encourages its staff to join the campaign at home by switching off unnecessary lights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm during Earth Hour.
