Perched on a small hill of the waterfront sidewalk of Shek Tsai Po Street, Tai O Heritage Hotel, graded as a Grade II historic building by the Antiquities Advisory Board, is a collaborative revitalisation project between Development Bureau of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the non-profit social enterprise, Hong Kong Heritage Conservation Foundation Limited (HCF).

The architecture has been conserved and transformed from the century-old Tai O Police Station constructed in 1902. Conferred with the Unesco Award of Merit in 2013, it is now home to nine colonial-style rooms, Heritage Interpretation Centre and a glass-roofed open view restaurant, Tai O Lookout. Tai O Heritage Hotel commits to promote heritage conservation, tourism, green living and engage the public in bolstering Tai O's economy, and to achieve synergy with other local facilities.

A comprehensive offer of accommodations, tour and event packages are designated to provide guests with an itinerary to unwind and to experience the inspiring attractions of Tai O and the natural environment. Since its opening, the hotel has welcomed over 1.2 million guests and visitors through community engagement activities and public access daily from 11 am - 6 pm. Free story tour of the old police station are conducted daily at 3 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4 pm.

About Tai O Lookout

Tai O Lookout, the glass-roofed restaurant situated on the first floor of Tai O Heritage Hotel, is named after the guard tower where the marine police were stationed to guard against pirate activities.

The rooftop is now transformed into the restaurant with colonial décor, housing the wood-carved furniture previously belonging to China Tee Club, with its vibe and flavour revived here. To promote the charming cultures and the indigenous fare of the century-old fishing village, Tai O Lookout serves signature snacks and drinks made from recipes and ingredients.
