Chinese New Year Celebrations

CNY
Olympian City is dedicated to promoting sustainable development activities. In 2019, Olympian City pioneered the "Olympian Kids Imagineer" program, inviting children to become part of the advisory group and collaborate in planning various award-winning large-scale mall promotional events, such as "Alien Planet Christmas Party" and "Joyful Adventure."

Led by experts from different fields, children are encouraged to unleash their unlimited creativity and put into practice the concept of "children designing and planning activities" to promote their overall development, including teamwork, communication and social skills, and building self-confidence. This unique initiative allows children to take the lead in driving the planning of large-scale mall events in Hong Kong.

As Lunar New Year approaches, Olympian City recruited a new generation of "Olympian Kids Imagineer" for the "Celebrating the New Year with Kids" Chinese Cultural Arts Project. Children between the ages of 6 and 10 are invited to join as little advisors. Registered children undergo interviews conducted by mentors, and 14 children was selected as members of the "Olympian Kids Imagineer" for this project.

They will participate in a series of Chinese Lunar New Year cultural and artistic training courses to help plan large-scale Lunar New Year activities at Olympian City. They will also take part in a grand lion dance parade during the Lantern Festival, showcasing their remarkable achievements to the public.

Partaking in this round of "Olympian Kids Imagineer" are Dr. Siu Yan Ho, Lecturer I, Department of Chinese Language and Literature at the Hong Kong Baptist University and Mr. Ka-ki Ho, teacher at Buddhist Sum Heung Lam Memorial College.

They will be teaching children traditional Chinese New Year customs and culture through AI innovations, including writing Prompts, communicating with AI and creating paintings through the AI Art Generation platform. Children will also learn the basics to lion dancing taught by Master Ha King Man, fourth-generation heir of the Ha Kwok Cheung Dragon & Lion Dance Hong Kong. They will show off their skills at the Lunar New Year Charity Parade.

Finally, Ms. TK Chan, Master of Design from a renowned institution in Edinburgh, will guide children to design a one-of-a-kind lion-dance team costume with ink painting. The costume will be worn at the Charity Parade for all to see!
