Built by the French between 1901 and 1911 in Hanoi, the Hanoi Opera House is one of the city's most famous landmarks.
The building is of historical importance as in August 1945 the Viet Minh communists announced from the main balcony of the building that they had assumed control over the city.
The Opera House is modeled on the Palais Garnier in Paris.
