Foodpanda Hong Kong

plant power

Statistics across the world have significantly shown that vegan diets have been more popular nowadays, while COVID-19 furthered the trend as people are more concerned with their health.

A recent poll conducted by Ipsos and commissioned by Hong Kong's Green Monday* unveiled that Hong Kong consumers demonstrated an increase in willingness to adopt plant-based options, a record of 34% of the population (i.e. 2.5 million Hongkongers) identified themselves as flexitarian and vegan eaters, a 10 percentage point increase compared with last year.

Results uncovered that one in four of the city's adolescents are going to reduce their meat consumption due to the pandemic, as they are more concerned with their health, environment, and animal welfare. As World Vegan Month kicks off this November, foodpanda is celebrating the plant-based lifestyle by highlighting the city's top-quality meatless restaurants. These restaurants are providing a range of meatless innovations, including:

Mother Pearl - An innovative tea shop to offer a healthy alternative for Bubble Tea fanatics while minimizing food wastage

MANA! - Serving some globally-inspired plant-based cuisine to provide options to accommodate the health-conscious and eco-conscious eaters without compromising taste or flavour

KALE - A health food restaurant in Central that serves some of the best salads, wraps and healthy sliders in Hong Kong

Kind Kitchen by Green Common - A vegan restaurant promoting the beauty of plant-based diets. Its menu features international fusion cuisines incorporating plant-based ingredients invented by leading food tech companies like Beyond Meat, Omnipork and JUST

On the other hand, customers can order various meatless snacks, beverages, spices etc. from Slowood, the one-stop eco-friendly and health product shop on foodpanda's online shopping platform foodpanda mall.

foodpanda's own online grocer pandamart is also featuring a great lineup of plant-based meats, soy milks and "greener" snacks this month to support "Plant Power":

OraSi - Soya Drinks and Rice Drinks

Beyond Meat - Beyond Burger and Beyond Sausage

OmniFoods - OmniPork Pearl Dumpling, Omnipork (Vegan minced meat)
